Permaculture is yoga for the earth.
Yoga is permaculture for the body!

We welcome you to a wholistic wellness journey where we harmonise with our nature!

During these 10 days, we focus on designing our personal lives based on the principles of permaculture and yoga. At the same time, we have enough personal space to explore the unique island of Nisyros, to play, to relax, to bathe in the sea and the therapeutic waters of Loutra. It’s a chance for real holidays! Let’s fund 15 Greeks to attend Rowe Morrow’s PDC!

Howdy co-creators!

This year, in September 2015, we’re organising a Permaculture Design Course (PDC) with Rosemary Morrow in Greece. For those of you who don’t know what this is, a PDC is an intensive course to teach people how to design resilient and sustainable eco-systems.

My name is Tina Lymberis and for the last 5 years, I’ve tuned into my permaculture passion: I’ve been organising and teaching seminars, sustaining a blog about permaculture with educational articles in greek (www.kangouro.gr), starting transition initiatives and now I’m about to print Greece’s first permaculture guide in Greek (earth user’s guide to permaculture, Rosemary Morrow).

The request is simple: raise enough cash to sponsor 15 Greek students to be able to attend this PDC and to give away 50 freshly translated permaculture books!

That’s it! Continue reading

THE COURSE IS FULLY BOOKED!

Come and learn about permaculture with Rosemary Morrow and Tina Lymberis in Nea Makri (Athens). The emphasis is on the Mediterranean climate and dryland strategies.

27 September – 9 October 2015 (13 days)

The weather will still be warm, so combine it with your holidays, take it on its own or sprinkle it with other experiences. Whatever you decide, if you’ve thought about doing a PDC, come and do it with us in Greece!

It’s the classic Permaculture Design Course (PDC), the internationally-recognized seventy-two hour course resulting in a Permaculture Design Certificate which is a comprehensive introduction to permaculture design as set forth by movement founder Bill Mollison.

The course will run for 13 days (including a 1-day break) in English with a translation of the main terms for the greek-speakers. Continue reading

International Permaculture Day in Greece – our first celebration!

welcome posterSometimes I wonder why I do some things. This time I wondered why I initiated the organisation of an event for International Permaculture Day, knowing full well that I have a myriad other things to do, including work on the translation of Rosemary Morrow’s ‘earth user’s guide’ into Greek (the first complete permaculture guide in greek), which will be coming out before September (it has to be out before Rosemary comes to Greece in September for us to co-teach a PDC!!)

On Sunday morning, I let the stress take over me. I felt we hadn’t done enough to prepare for the day, that we weren’t as organised as I wanted to be and as I normally am, etc, etc. When I expressed this fear to my co-organiser Elena, she reminded me of the times that we over-organise events and it doesn’t turn out as we had imagined. So, I felt reassured, I trusted and I let go.

What followed was what I would call “perfect flow”. As soon as we arrived at the Urban Farm of Halandri, 2 people were already waiting, eager and ready to help us set up. By the time I realised what was happening, I saw things getting done before my eyes, without me having to get involved. Continue reading
